CHAPTER I

INTRODUCTION



1.1 Background

Penididikan is an activity that is common to every human being on earth. Education can not be separated from any human activity. Under no circumstances humans can not resist the effects of the application of education. Education is taken from the base learners, which added affixes become educated. Educate means memlihara or provide training regarding the character and intelligence of the mind. From this understanding gained some matters relating to education.

According to Indonesian dictionary, education is a human effort to change attitudes and code of conduct a person or group of people in human mature businesses through the efforts of teaching and training. In essence, education is a human attempt to humanize the man himself. In penididkan there are two principal subjects interacting. Both the subject and the subject students are educators. Subjects were not always human, but can be medium or educational tools. So that the educational interaction between teachers with subject students to achieve educational goals.

According containers provide education, education can be divided into formal, informal and non-formal.

Formal education is any form of education or training provided in an organized and hierarchical, both general and specific nature. An example is the elementary school, junior high, high school and community college or private. Informal education dalah kind of education or training that is contained in the family or society organized without any specific organization (not an organization). Non-formal education is any form of education given in an organized yan but outside the formal education forum.

In this paper, will be reviewed matters relating to formal education held in Indonesia.

Basically any activity undertaken will lead to two kinds of conflicting effects. The second impact is the positive and negative impacts. The positive impact is everything that is the expectation of the implementation of these activities, in other words can be referred to as the 'Destination'. While the negative impact is anything that is not a hope in the implementation of the activity, so it can be called as an obstacle or problem posed.

If the above events associated with education, the implementation of education will have a negative impact referred to as problems and obstacles to be faced. It would be more precise to mention the problems of Education.

The term problems translated from English language education is the "problem". The problem is that everything must be settled or resolved. While the word means something problem in question or matter in question. So the problem is all the education-something that is a problem in pelaksanaaan educational activities.

From the above description, it can be concluded that the Indonesian Education Problems are all kinds of problems faced by educational programs in the country of Indonesia. As is known in the MPR Decree No.. II/MPR/1993 explained that the main program of education development in Indonesia are as follows.

     Expansion and equal opportunity to participate in education
     Improved quality of education
     Increasing the relevance of education
     Increased efficiency and effectiveness of education
     cultural development
     Coaching youth

The problem is seen to be very complicated in the world of education is as follows.

     Equitable
     Quality and Relevance
     Efficiency and effectiveness

Any problems encountered are caused by factors such as for supporting the factors that led to the development of four problems above are as follows.

         Pengeahuan Science and Technology (Science and Technology)
         Growth rate of population
         The weakness of the teacher / lecturer (lecturer) in handling the task it faces, and underwent a de learners in the educational process (learning problems).

1.2 Objectives

The objectives to be achieved in the manufacture of this paper is as follows.

     Fulfill the tasks assigned to the course Introduction to Education, State University of Padang.
     As a student's attention to the problem of education dihadapiIndonesia.
     An attempt to improve the quality pendidikanIndonesia.
     Assist in addressing and tackling the problems faced in the world of education.

1.3 Problem Formulation

The problem of education is a very complex problem. When explored further, then we will find a bunch of complicated things that are very difficult to be handled. Problems encountered will be more difficult if interrelated to each other.

Therefore, in this paper the author will provide an overview of the collection of important issues that will be discussed in this paper. Here is a chart of the issues to be discussed.
